The Central Florida Anthropological Society was established in 1963 as a non-profit organization dedicated to the appreciation, study, and preservation of Florida's pre-Columbian, historic and contemporary cultural heritage. We are registered with the state of Florida as a non-profit 501c3 corporation. CFAS is the local chapter in Central Florida for the Florida Anthropological Society (FAS). It represents Lake, Orange, Osceola, and Seminole Counties. Our members are comprised of a diverse background that include registered professional archaeologists, academic professors, graduate and undergraduate students, historians, hobbyists and collectors, amateur enthusiasts, and community members who have a keen interest in archaeology and the other anthropological sub disciplines.
