Preventing Gun Violence: a Community Conversation

Gun violence has touched a broad cross section of our city and our country, and remains a persistent public safety issue. The League of Women Voters of the St. Petersburg Area invites you to hear local community leaders share their personal stories and professional insights and then join us in exploring how we can take personal and collective action. A primary focus will be the impact on families, children and adolescents.

This event is purposefully scheduled during the 2018 Florida legislative session and will be outcome and action-oriented.

Panelists:
Lisa Wheeler-Bowman, Chair, St. Petersburg City Council
Amanda Thalji-Raitano, PhD, licensed psychologist, BeSMART for Kids
Rev. Dr. Manuel L. Sykes, Bethel Community Baptist Church
Dr. David Berman, Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital
Ryan Mitchell, facilitator, Lieutenant Firefighter Paramedic
