The Florida Project (Sean Baker, 2017)

In the shadow of the happiest place on earth, defiant young mother Halley (Bria Vinaite) and her equally rebellious six-year-old daughter Moonee (Brooklynn Prince) challenge the traditional notion of home as they hash out their existence at a welfare hotel near Disney World, apologizing to no one along the way. This latest feature from director Sean Baker (Tangerine, Prince of Broadway, Starlet) was chosen as one of the top 10 films of 2017 by the National Board of Review and the American Film Institute. Willem Dafoe also stars in a Golden Globe nominated performance as the handyman who can fix everything but his own life. Free and open to the public.
