As part of the “Juicy” exhibition at the Morean Arts Center in St. Petersburg, Florida, award-winning performance artist Brian Feldman will be presenting a new project called “hey.”

For the duration of the exhibition (April 10 – June 24, 2021), a video doorbell will be affixed to the gallery wall. If you choose to press the button during gallery hours, a live video will be sent to the artist’s mobile phone so he can see, hear, and speak with you. It’s been a hard year and we could all use a check-in. So, call to find out where he is, what he’s up to, and just to say “hey.”

With a duration of 505 hours over 75 days, “hey” will be the longest performance art piece in Pinellas County history, as well as of Brian’s career. It’s also his first project in Tampa Bay in three years.

Florida quotes about Brian:

“A truly original performer…”

– David Warner, Editor – Creative Loafing Tampa Bay

“Feldman is a bona fide Orlando institution, having entertained us with avant-garde offerings such as jumping off a 12-foot ladder 366 times in 24 hours to celebrate leap year, or turning a simple meal with his family into a staged performance.”

– Mike Boslet, Editor – Orlando Magazine

“One of the most bizarre and entertaining things we’ve ever seen, there’s nobody like Brian Feldman.”

– Orlando Sentinel

“Orlando’s most original performance artist… Our city will undoubtedly be poorer without Feldman’s world-class weirdness.”

– Seth Kubersky, Orlando Weekly

“We do miss Brian Feldman, who was once Orlando’s only full-time performance artist, and his seemingly endless well of inspiration…”

– Jessica Bryce Young, Editor – Orlando Weekly

“I think I’ve been [waiting] my whole life to live in a community where somebody like Brian Feldman does, cause he just makes my life happier.”

– Margot H. Knight, President & CEO – United Arts of Central Florida
