I’m Speaking Series- Conversations that Inspire

We will highlight local examples of people and partnerships taking a stand for equity as a model for others to follow.

In Conversations that Move, you heard very personal stories from women of color on how they have dealt with racism and gender bias in the workplace. But to create systemic change, we need new partnerships and new structures.

In Conversations that Inspire, you will learn from dynamic women in Tampa Bay about the models they are building to make society more equitable.

This event will feature a series of fireside chats with a breakout room session to
connect models, ideas, and the people doing the work to create a more equitable Tampa Bay work culture.

SPEAKERS

The I’m Speaking Series will move you through truth-telling, inspire you with local success stories of change, and invites you to learn what can be done as an ally within workplaces. Women of color are centered in the curation and representation of this series, I’m Speaking: Conversations about race, gender, and ethical leadership. Inspired by the powerful Black Lives Matter demonstrations and the historic election of Kamala Harris, Vice President of the United States of America, each conversation will help you move into closer allyship with the women and people of color in the community.

The 2021 theme for the Women and Leadership Initiative is Race & Representation. This theme explores how anti-racism and gender equity intersect in the workplace. The below co-creators joined our event planning process to help our team understand the important topics and acute challenges in the Tampa Bay area.
